THE IMPACT OF THE STATE ON THE ECONOMY IN WORKS BY RUSSIAN SCIENTISTS

Background. In conditions of the global crisis there has increased the need for an in-depth study of the regulatory capacity of the modern State as a more effective in-stitution compared with supranational entities. Of particular interest is the experience of Russia with its traditionally large role of the State in the economy, as reflected in scientific concepts. However, the absence of specific studies on the evolution of ide-as about interaction of the State and the economy in the Russian economic thought is holding back an analysis of such experiences. The aim of this work is to analyze formation and genesis of the Russian scientific school on the state’s influence on the economy.
Materials and methods. The research objectives were implemented through a re-view of major works by Russian statesmen and explorers of problems of impact on the economy, since Yaroslav the wise, Ordyn-Nashekin, Pososhkov, till modern rep-resentatives of neoinstitutional directions. The methodological capacity included comparative-historical, institutional and evolutionary methods, a statistical analysis, which enabled to identify the key trends of formation and to determine the impro-tance of the Russian Scientific School in investigation of the said problem for devel-opment of the theory and practice of State regulation of the economy.
Results. The author researched the formation and development of the Russian scientific school on public influence on the economy, identified three specific traits that determined the development of the economic thought in Russia: the fragile economy, the need to study the social factor in the economy, an analysis of Govern-ment Regulation as a mandatory element of economic relations. In the 20th century these traits have been supplemented with a trend to synergy effect and with imple-mentation of institutionalism principles and a systematic approach in research meth-odology.
Conclusions. This study allows to understand the essence of the specifics of Rus-sian scientific thoughts on the impact of the State on the economy, as a reflection of objective development needs of countries in addressing internal and exter-nal constraints, the nature of which requires government intervention, as the only in-stitution with sufficient force for this power.
